Summer Nails!

It's summer time! And summer reminds me of the beach!

For today's nails, I used China Glaze Electric Beat as the base, and sponged OPI Miso Happy With This Color over the bottom half of the nails as sand. To make it look slightly more realistic, I added a coat of China Glaze Candie over Miso Happy With This Color for the sparkly sand in the sun look.

Summer also reminds me of bright colors, so I used Icing Pre Game over China Glaze Electric Beat on my accent finger!

Pre Game is such an interesting polish! It's clear base filled with bright neon(?) glitters, but not normal glitters. They are shredded glitters! I love how they are all irregular and look more like confetti than other normal glitter polishes!

Check out my cute little pair of beach slippers on my thumb as well! :)

A-England Lady In The Lake

Today I have A-England Lady In The Lake on my nails!

Lady In The Lake is a deep purple holographic polish that is simply simply gorgeous! A-England holo polishes are quite interesting, they all seems to be scattered holos, yet there is a faint and very obvious line of rainbow under the sunlight.

I also finally tried stamping with the french tip plates! I have lots of them but never tried them as I though they're weird and too thick.. My nails are fairly short so there's no way I can stamp in the whole image and it'll still be tips.

So anyway.. this is it! I stamped with BM plate BM-216, the design that looked like a peacock tail.. I only stamped part of the image so it wouldnt be too big on my nails.. What do you think? :)

Orange Sandwich for Shinhwa!

I'm back! Back from the most awesome concert ever - Shinhwa's Concert in SG! :)

I have been a fan of Shinhwa for 10 years already! Time really flies! And this year they had a comeback after a 4 hiatus due to their army services and Singapore is one of their stops for their 14th Anniversary Asia Tour concert! So happy!

Did an Orange sandwich manicure for the day as Orange is Shinhwa Changjo's (Shinhwa fanclub) official color!

For this manicure, I used OPI 'In My Back Pocket' for the base as I dont want any VNL.. Milani 'Gems' in the middle, and then topped it with OPI 'Y'all Come Back Ya Hear?' for the jelly finish.

I'm not sure if Milani Gems is an exact dupe for OPI 'Rainbow connection', but it's very very close. If you didnt manage to get 'Rainbow connection', you can get this instead since it's not a limited edition or anything, and is easily available.

I actually like Milani Gems more under the jelly rather than on it's own.. It does seem as messy and the effect is pretty cool!

Here's a close up pic on one of my finger: *sorry for the messy cuticle*

Last but not least.. I'm ending this post with a picture I took during the concert - Shinhwa Fighting!

Holo Hump Day!

Today is another group mani day! Apparently Wednesday is also called Hump day because it's the middle of the week (I didnt know that).. LOL.. So today we have Holo Hump Day!

Obviously.. if you have not noticed, today we are supposed to do holo nails! I really love Holo polishes (who doesnt?) but it's a real pity that they're always so expensive! :( Please make holo polishes more affordable! I need more of them in my life!

I chose Nfu oh #66 today, one of my un-used, and it's simply gorgeous! It's so holo that it's even visible indoors! Mad Love! One thing to note though.. Aqua Base! Very very important! I have them, but forgot to use it when I was applying the holo polish and gosh! So many bald spots! It's a total nightmare!

I used 2 coats of Seche Vite here due to the stamping (Konad plate m83 with Color Club Revvvolution), so the holo-ness is already significantly dimmed.. Is there any top coat that doesn't dim the effects of Holo polishes?

Neon Splatters

I seems to be using my neons a lot these days! The bright colours that pop & catches people attention - I've got plenty of compliments when I had the neon gradients on previously!

Today I have little neon splatters on my nails! I had wanted to do little neon furry creatures and somehow they ended up becoming splatters. Oh well.. see the 1st one I created on my pinkie? It have significantly more 'spikes' than the others. Haha! :)

For the base I used OPI Play The Peonies and layered a coat of Orly Prisma Gloss Gold over it for some sparkle - then draw the splatters on with some of the new Summer Neons by China Glaze using dotting tools and orange stick.

I like how this set of nails turned out! It's very artistic looking yet still cute due to the bright colors! What do you think?

Pedal Faster Suzi!

I have a semi-failed nail art to share today - Tried to do a side scallop tip but it didnt really turn out the way I want it to.

For the base, I used OPI Pedal Faster Suzi! from the Holland Collection - a decent rose with silver shimmers. I got this polish for it's name rather than the colour actually. I'm quite into these OPI polishes with "Suzi' in the names. :)

Middle finger is layered with Michelle NG3, a fine pink glitter polish with holographic bar glitters. Love this one here!

Gradient Friday!

Some of the girls from my favourite FB group PLOP had came together and decided to do a theme together, and it's Gradient nails! I was happy to finally participate this time as I was busy the previous few rounds they did it.

Be sure to check out the rest of the awesome gradient manicures at the bottom!

For my gradient nails, I used a bunch of neon polishes and stamped over with Cheeky plate CH14!

I didn't use the new popular technique in Nailasaurus's tutorial as some of the neons were quite sheer so I didn't think it would work. Instead I used OPI Alpine Snow as base, and sponged on the neons 1/3 of the nail at a time to achieve this.

So what do you think? Is this awesome or what?! :)

China Glaze 'I Herd That' & 'I'm Not Lion'

CG I Herd That (Left), CG I'm Not Lion (Right)

'I Herd That' & 'I'm Not Lion' are the glitters from the new Safari Collection from China Glaze!
Safari collection comprises of mostly earthy cremes which are not bad, if you do not already have something similar. Seriously, we need new colors! In the end I only bought these 2 babies as I already have similar shades for the rest in my stash..

'I Herd That' & 'I'm Not Lion' had a pleasant little surprise for me when I shine my table light on them because.. they have micro holographic glitters in them! The micro holographic glitters are very very fine and really hard to see especially in the shade, and they are sort of like.. I'm there.. I'm not there.. But I still like them!

These photos are taken indoor, with indirect sunlight.

'I Herd That' is filled with gold and copper glitters, and of cos, micro holographic glitters in a clear base. Formula is great, not thick at all. I used 2 coats for the above picture, looks pretty opaque to me but it's hard to tell as I layered this over a silver foil polish.

I compared 'I Herd That' with CG 'Fireside Glow' by the bottle and they are not dupes. "Fireside Glow' is more brown and darker, while 'I Herd That' is more gold and lighter.

'I'm Not Lion' is filled with light brass gold and silver glitters, and micro holographic glitters in clear base. Formula is the same as 'I Herd That', smooth and easy to apply. 2 coats for the above layered over a silver foil as well.

The holographic glitters is more obvious in the bottle for 'I'm Not Lion', but actually shows up more for 'I Herd That' on the nails!

Love these 2 shades that I got, meh.. for the rest. Dont need them. I also have a nail art post scheduled next, so stay tuned!

Cheers!

Kleancolor Chunky Holo Black

Today I have Chunky Holo Black from Kleancolor today! Chunky Holo Black is a brownish-black jelly fill with super super thin color shifting glitters! Chunky Holo Black is very sheer so it's probably not a good idea to use it on it's own. Black is  the best base for it, I think..

The glitters color shifts from orange to green and yellow depending on the angle that the light hits them.. Some blue are also spotted in the bottle but I can't get them on my nails. The glitters do tends to sink to the bottom of the bottle and Kleancolors only have one steel ball bearing in it so it's not easy to shake them up. Problem solved by turning and storing the polish upside down. :)

Sorry for the slight tip wear! I was too lazy to do cleanup so I wore it for a few days to let the polish on skin drop off itself before taking this photo! :P

Kleancolor Holo Chrome

I'm having Holo Chrome from Kleancolor on my nails today! I've heard about this one for quite some time so I was really excited when I finally got it!

Holo Chrome is a violet jelly packed with micro holographic glitters! The holographic glitters in this one is really fine and you can hardly feel them on the nails at all. Application is super smooth - it's sheer at one coat, opaque at two.

Look at the sparkly holo glitters! They're so shiny under the light that they'll actually hurts my eyes! Super gorgeous! :)
