First up, China Glaze Elfin’ Around
Elfin’ Around is a orange-leaning coral foil like polish with silver micro-shimmers, described by China Glaze as aluminum-like mirror finish.
Application is very smooth and really easy to control.
This is a one coater. I applied 1 coat on my index and ring fingers, and 2 coats on my middle and pinkie fingers but they just looked exactly the same so I guess you can safely go with 1 coats for all.
Next, China Glaze Santa Red My List
Santa Red My List is a raspberry pinky-red foil polish with silver micro-shimmers. Very pretty christmasy colour!
Application is great for this polish as well. The silver shimmers can be hardly be seen on the nail, but I guess they would be adding some sparkle when the lights hit on them?
You can get away with 1 coats for this polish, but 2 coats does makes it slightly darker & deeper.
1 coat on index & ring fingers, 2 coats on middle and pinkie fingers.
China Glaze Mingle With Kringle
Mingle With Kringle is a light bright gold foil polish with bits of coppery darker gold flakes. This polish reminds me a lot of Goldie But Goodie from the Autumn Nights collection.
Application is smooth, but the polish tends to create bald spots. I used 2 coats on all my fingers for this.
When I removed the polish, the gold flakes got all over my fingers and was a pain in the ass to remove. :(
Next up, China Glaze So Blue Without You
So Blue Without You is a beautiful turquoise-blue foil polish. Polish is more turquoise in real life than shown in the pictures.
Application is smooth and will require at least 2 coats to be opaque. Stain alert! I could see some blue staining on my nails even though I only had this on for like 10 minutes and I even had a base coat on. :(
It does seems like a lot of China Glaze's blues stains right?
China Glaze Just Be-Claws
Just Be-Claws is a really gorgeous bright red shimmer polish! Really common but is my favourite out of this half of the collection!
Application is super smooth like the others.. kinda like jelly! I had 1 coat on my index and ring fingers, and 2 coats on my middle and pinkie fingers. You can see how 2 coats made the polish more red and luscious.. much deeper and prettier!
So pretty! Classic red never gets old. I wonder how it compares with Ruby Pumps and Ring In The Red!
Last of this half, China Glaze There’s Snow One Like You
There’s Snow One Like You is a white textured polish with matte white hex glitters in it!
I have to admit that the application for this is not at all smooth. With the texture and the glitter, the polish is really really chunky. The texture bits (?) was a little transparent/translucent as well and I got really confused when applying the polish, thinking that they were air bubbles.. -.-"
There’s Snow One Like You reminds me a lot more of crystallized salt than snow.
This is a polish that would probably impress your friends when they sees it during Christmas, but would be a pain in the ass to apply other times. I'm not kidding.. this is only 2 coats and it's so chunky!
Okay.. I might be exaggerating abit.. but it does feels really bad after 5 super smooth applications.
That's all for part 1 now. If you are interested, the HoliGlaze collection will be up for sale at http://polishalley.com really soon!
Stay tuned for part 2! All the glitters will be there!
Thanks for swatches! I really don't see anything that is popping out at me. The concept of There's Snow One Like You seemed really cool, but I'm not a huge fan of how it looks. It's too chunky and clumpy for me. I'm looking forward to seeing the glitters!
ReplyDeleteIm totally with Melissa!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for swatching! :)
I can't wait for the glitters! Thanks for the swatches!
ReplyDeleteSanta Red My List and Just Be-Claws look awesome!
ReplyDeleteThe white one looks really strange and i wouldn't have it on my nails.
Hopefully there will be some Sets, especially with the pink/red ones... ♥
How did you get these?
ReplyDeleteI'm a sucker for foils so I am in love!! Especially the first two <3

ReplyDeleteIt's just a clue, but try to apply only one coat of the texturized one after another color. The red or the blue, I think can work really well with it. Can be that the effect of snow appear better, like snow falling from the sky.
ReplyDeleteSorry for my English. I don't know if I write correctly because I'm from Brazil, and I'm still studying it. It's not very good, but I'm trying.
So Blue Without You is definitely on my list! And I'm a huge texture fan, but that one is just a little bit too much for me.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! Can't wait to see the rest! :D
ReplyDeleteGorgeous swatches! These are the first I've seen of this collection! There's Snow One Like You is...unique!
