The Crinkled Chrome collection is described by China Glaze as "Chrome meets pastel, giving feminine flair to this crinkled metal look." So here are the swatches!
China Glaze Iron Out The Details is an icy blue metallic chrome polish with textured crinkled looking finish.
Next, China Glaze Crush, Crush, Baby
China Glaze Crush, Crush, Baby is a light lilac metallic chrome polish with textured, crinkled finish.
China Glaze Don't Be Foiled
China Glaze Don't Be Foiled is a gorgeous teal, seaform green metallic chrome polish with textured, crinkled finish. (Colour is much darker & greener in real life).
This is much closer to the actual colour of China Glaze Don't Be Foiled.
Next, China Glaze Wrinkling The Sheet.
China Glaze Wrinkling The Sheet is a very light metallic lime green chrome polish with a textured, crinkled finish.
The green is much more obvious in real life.. I used natural light today and it got the colours all a little too light.
China Glaze I’m Chromatic is a light metallic pink chrome polish with textured, crinkled finish.
Quite a pretty sweet pink!
Last of the collection, China Glaze Aluminate.
China Glaze Aluminate is a silver metallic chrome polish with textured, crinkled finish.
Very pretty & white silver. I guess all the silver polish fans would love this!
My thoughts:
I was initially very curious about this collection from it's name "Crinkled Chrome', but after swatching the first bottle, it's quite apparent that there's no chemical reaction.. blah blah.. rocket science behind it.
It's really just tiny beads & bar glitters mixed into the polish to create the 'crinkled' effect. Very much like the rest of China Glaze's textured polishes.
Here's how it looks like half-removed:
As for the application, Chrome polishes are generally smooth and this is no exception. However they do tend to get gooey really quickly.
In the end, I added some thinner to them and they were great after that. Be careful not to add too much or the polish might turn too thin to hold the stuffs (the bar glitters etc..) and they might sink to the bottom (just my guess).
Overall, these polishes gave me a really hi-tech, sci fi feel.. haha! My favourites are Don't Be Foiled (Teal) and Aluminate (Silver)!
So what do you think of this collection? Do you textured lovers love this as well?

Oh my! I haven't seen any press release for these and they are so lovely! I wonder when we will have rhem in rhe US.
ReplyDeleteWhoa, these are really strange, I think I'll have to see them on my own nails before I decide if I like them or not. They better be coming to the US soon!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate ChG's innovation, but these don't work for me, at all. Oddly, that texture that everyone says looks like cottage cheese does but not these, lol. Thanks for the swatches and write up! I love3 the colors of Don't Be Foiled and I'm Chromatic! (my gosh, who comes up with these names? lolol.)
ReplyDeleteColors are gorgeous, but to me they are a hot mess. Not liking the finish at all, but you gotta give China Glaze credit for pushing the envelope. If they took that glitter out, I'd be all over these. I've been looking for swatches on these for a couple of months now...thanks!!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors, but wish they weren't textured. Just not feeling the textured polishes.
ReplyDeleteYour swatches are great, as always -- thanks! -- but I don't care for this texture. Looks like a kindergarten art project gone bad. I'm looking forward to China Glaze's summer polishes though.
ReplyDeleteWell, the next collection seems to be a textured one as well - The Sea Godness'. China Glaze seems to be on a roll with these textured polishes!
