China Glaze Sea Goddess Collection - Swatches

China Glaze Sea Goddess Collection
Today I have swatches for the China Glaze Spring 2014 collection - Sea Goddess!

The Sea Goddess collection is a textured collection that is slightly different from the previous ones that China Glaze had released. From what I observed, this collection can be categorized into 2 types: the sandy ones and the sparkly ones!

First up are the sandy ones:

China Glaze Teal the Tide Turns

China Glaze Teal the Tide Turns is a light teal textured polish with green glitters.

The textured bits in this polish is very fine and really felt like sand! The coverage is also much better compared to the previous textured collections by China Glaze.

A close up! Application-wise, it's like jelly polish! Super easy to control & apply.

I applied top coat over it to see what happens, and somehow it became jelly like. I don't really like this finish though. I prefer it much more without top coat.

China Glaze Shell We Dance

China Glaze Shell We Dance is a bright pink textured polish with silver & pink glitters. I love the name for this one!

Shell We Dance actually reminds me of mashed Strawberries when I was applying it, however it turns into a sandy texture when dried.

Isn't it gorgeous in close-up?

Looks really squishy & jelly with top coat!

China Glaze Sand Dolla Make You Holla

China Glaze Sand Dolla Make You Holla is a white textured polish with multi-colored glitters! Definitely my favourite out of this collection!

A beautiful close-up of a sandy beach with colorful sea shells! LOL

Totally gorgeous with top coat as well. Major love!

Next are the sparkly shimmer ones!

China Glaze Seahorsin’ Around

China Glaze Seahorsin’ Around is a turquoise textured polish with gold shimmers. I'm sorry that it looked so blue in the pictures. It's actually more green in real life (a.k.a. - just turquoise).

Here's what it actually is:

A close-up! You can see the shimmers sparkle in the bottle.

With top coat! If I were to do a comparison, I would say that for this half of the collection, the finish is quite similar to OPI's Bond Girls collection.

China Glaze Tail Me Something

China Glaze Tail Me Something is a beautiful lilac textured polish with lavender tiny glitters.

You can see the tiny lavender glitters in the close-up, but they are actually not that obvious in real life. The color is beautiful nevertheless.

China Glaze Tail Me Something

Sparkly with top coat over it! They tend to eat up the top coat though.. This is taken almost immediately after top coat is applied so it's still glossy.

China Glaze Wish On a Starfish

China Glaze Wish On a Starfish is a light pale pink textured polish with gold shimmers.

A gorgeous work place friendly color!

Close-up. The shimmers are the most intense for this polish, compared to others in the collection.

China Glaze Wish On a Starfish

It looks really shiny & pretty here.. but unfortunately I had this on for the longest (cos it's the last that I swatched), and it basically ate all the top coat & is still as gritty as ever. LOL

My thoughts:

I was never a fan of the China Glaze textured polishes but I must say that I really like these! Especially the 3 sandy ones for both their texture and their colors. :)

The sandy ones might be a pain to remove though, as they breaks down in really fine bits that really felt like sand. I wonder how they did it. haha!

For those interested, the China Glaze Sea Goddess collection is now available for sale at http://PolishAlley.com

So what do you think? Would you be getting these?

Nail Art Neon Studs

Nail Art Neon Studs

So I just got some neon nail art studs from PolishAlley.com and this is me trying them out!

Nail Art Neon Studs

These neon studs comes in 6 colors, with both square & circle studs for each colors. The circle studs are smaller than I thought (they were 2mm each) but they were actually just right for me as my nails are reallly small.

To stick the studs on, I applied a coat of top coat over my base color (which is China Glaze Aquadelic btw), and quickly arrange the studs on my nails before the top coat dries. I was afraid that the studs will fall off easily so I decided to apply another coat of top coat over everything again.

Luckily they still looked nice with a glossy finish. Unfortunately my top coat was turning gooey and there was a ton of bubbles. :(

Here's how it looked before the top coat!

China Glaze Ruby Pumps

China Glaze Ruby Pumps

Chinese New Year is in about 2 weeks so I've decided to do a mani that fits the mood! :)

I used China Glaze Ruby Pumps as base and lightly topped China Glaze Techno over the tips. What do you think?

You cant really see from the pictures, but I love how Ruby Pumps sparkles under the light with it's shimmers. Definitely one of the best reds out there.

A simple yet one of the most popular nail designs for CNY!

Funky Neon Nails For The New Year

Hi Everyone! I finally got the pueen plates which I had wanted for so long but they do not ship out of USA (I got them via SpreeAlley btw), and finally finally got to use them!

So here's what I did for my first mani of 2014!

China Glaze Neon & On & On

How do they look?! I stamped Pueen Plate Pueen07 over China Glaze Neon & On & On.

I'm so in love with these Pueen plates! They have so many beautiful full nail designs that I (almost) only use, and they are so huge as well so I don't need to worry that it wouldnt cover my whole nail.

Major love! Definitely one of the must-get plates for stampers (other than Bundle Monster).

Well, 2014 is going to be an exciting year for me! In this year, I'm getting married, getting my own house for the very first time and I'm going for Honeymoon in the USA! (*Ladies, I'm coming!)

So far, the plan is to visit Florida (for Disney World & Universal Studios), and then head to New York for a few days. Any recommendations of good places to get nail polish around these areas would be greatly appreciated! Or any other states / cities nearby that we can visit would be great too! :)

Hopefully 2014 would be a great year for you as well, whoever you are, reading this post. :)

Cheers to 2014!
